Film is usually shot at 24 FPS. Interestingly enough when it is transfered for NTSC television (North America, South America, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Burma, and some Pacific island nations and territories) it is slowed to 23.976 FPS. When transfered for PAL and SECAM television, it is sped up to 25 FPS.
Haha! Oops. Yep, I messed that one up. I think I said the same thing in an earlier episode too.
I didn’t know that about the 23.976 fps, either. That’s just weird. I wonder if we could slow it all way down to pi frames per second?
I also wonder if all this time then we’ve thought Clint Eastwood’s voice was actually lower than it is? That extra 0.024 fps can really alter a performance!
Love the podcast guys but please, please sort out the background hissing/white noise, it’s pretty unbearable.
Hmmm … sorry about that, I’ll see what I can do.
